Capabilities
Lake Union Drydock Company is a full service shipyard which employs talented
individuals in all shipyard trades, carrying on an eighty year tradition
of craftmanship. We specialize in complex ship overhauls, but we welcome
a wide variety of projects large and small. Examples of our capabilities
include:

Certified welding of exotic metals as well as ordinary mild steel heliarc
and MIG.

$25 million overhaul of a Washington State Ferry including removal and
replacement of the drive train.

Pour and machine babbitted bearings.

Overhauling CP (Controllable Pitch) propeller systems and other equipment.

Building fish processing lines for factory trawlers.

Building ventilation ducting systems.

Major electrical installations. Load testing to 2,000 KW.

Replacement of keels on wooden ships.

Sponsoring (widening) and lengthening ships.

Sil-braze piping systems.
Facilities
12 acre facility on fresh water with water depth nominally 38 feet.
Three dry docks servicing vessels up to 410 feet in length.
Over 3,000 lineal feet of pier space with full utilities.
Location
We are located conveniently close to downtown Seattle on the east side
of Lake Union which is accessible from Puget Sound via locks. From Interstate
5, take the Mercer Street exit, turn right at the first two lights, proceed
